Internships
"CREST is not just a school program; it’s a transformative journey," - Pranav V, CREST Class of 2026
Launch your future before you graduate.
The CREST Internship Program gives you the chance to “test drive” a career field while still in high school. Instead of just learning about science, engineering, and technology in the classroom, you’ll step into real workplaces and see how professionals apply knowledge, skills, and habits every day. This experience helps you discover whether your passions truly align with a career path and gives you the confidence to explore new possibilities.
What You’ll Gain
-
Hands-on Experience: Operate real equipment, use industry-standard tools, and practice professional skills in authentic settings.
-
Career Skills That Set You Apart: Develop technical expertise along with skills valued in every career: communication, teamwork, time management, and adaptability.
-
Mentors and Connections: Build a professional network with industry experts who can guide you, write recommendations, and open doors to future opportunities.
-
A Competitive Edge for College & Careers: Showcase your initiative and applied learning on college, scholarship, and apprenticeship applications.
What’s Expected of You
CREST internships are designed to prepare you for success beyond high school. Students are expected to:
-
Complete at least 120 internship hours during the program.
-
Keep a bi-weekly timesheet and reflection blog to document progress and growth.
-
Create a comprehensive video project at the end of the internship to highlight their internship experience and inspire future students.
Why It Matters
Your internship is more than just work experience—it’s your first step toward building a meaningful career in STEM. You’ll return to school with new skills, stronger motivation, and a clear vision of the future you’re creating.
For Industry Partners: CREST internships give local employers the opportunity to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. To learn more about providing internships, job shadowing, project mentoring, or guest speaking, please email Jason Gershowitz.
CREST Seniors Intern at Grand Canyon University Labs
This year, several CREST students completed their internships alongside researchers at Grand Canyon University, gaining hands-on experience in real college labs. Students worked in areas such as Anatomy and Dissection, Biomedical Device Design and Prototyping, the POWER Lab, and Software Development. Their projects included mapping human body systems, testing prosthetic hand sensors, and creating teaching tools for Java programming. These internships gave CREST students the chance to contribute to meaningful research, explore cutting-edge STEM fields, and build experiences that set them apart for college and career opportunities.
