Campus Safety Procedures
All visitors to campus must check in with the front office and receive a visitor badge upon arrival. Upon leaving campus, all visitors must check out through the front office.
PVHS Emergency Plan
The safety and security of all PVSchools students and staff is a top priority. All district staff members receive training in a variety of emergency scenarios. Our emergency response plans have been developed by school and district teams to ensure that all schools meet and exceed emergency response preparedness guidelines established by the United States and Arizona Departments of Education, and the Maricopa County Department of Emergency Management. Parents are encouraged to review the resources here.
School Resource Officers
We have a Student Resource Officer, Ulises Oseguera, at PVHS full time who assists in serious discipline and safety issues that may need involvement with a law enforcement officer. Contact Officer Oseguera.
Security
Security of students is of utmost importance at Paradise Valley High School. At various points around campus, security personnel are available to assist students with any issues that arise while on campus. Campus gates for student entry/exit are locked from 7:30 am to 2:10 pm unless a student's ID badge allows them to enter or exit late. Students arriving late must enter through the Attendance office.
Student Identification
To ensure school safety, we must be able to easily identify all individuals on our campus. All district high school students are required to wear their school identification badge on a lanyard, and be visible at all times while on campus. The identification badge must be displayed on the outermost garment between the neckline and waistline, and visible at all times. Students must carry their ID badges in their possession while attending extracurricular activities or other school events outside of the school day. Student identification badges and a breakaway style lanyard are provided to students at walk-thru. Disciplinary action will be issued to students who do not properly display their school identification badge. Badges are non-transferrable, and using another student's badge or "sharing" a badge is a serious security violation.
Lost, damaged, or defaced identification badges must be replaced. The replacement cost for a new badge is $5.00. Badges can be purchased in the Bookstore.
