PRINCIPAL HIGH SCHOOL
Paradise Valley High School

Originally from Ohio, I moved to Arizona in 1973. I grew up and attended K-12 in PVUSD.  I received both my B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from Northern Arizona University. GO JACKS! My teaching career started in 1992 in Fountain Hills, AZ where I taught middle school social studies for twelve years. During this time I also coached football and wrestling at the high school level. I came back to PVUSD to start my administrative career in 2004, and have been in “paradise” ever since. I enjoy spending time with my family and experiencing the outdoors.

I was fortunate to become the principal of Paradise Valley High School in 2013 and absolutely love it here.  We are blessed with wonderful students, excellent staff members and time-honored traditions at PV. Our administrative team, teachers and support staff are committed to providing the best possible environment for teaching and learning. We want our students to feel safe, known, and cared for and we work hard to ensure that atmosphere exists.  I am proud to be a member of this community and look forward to guiding our school towards continued success.

We also recognize the importance of providing a comprehensive high school experience and encourage our students to get involved in extracurricular activities. Whether sports, fine arts, clubs, or service organizations, PV has much to offer outside of the academic rigor of the classroom.  Please encourage your children to take full advantage of their time here and help them find something to deepen their connection to school.

Sincerely,

Ian Deonise
Principal, PVHS
