Spring Semester, a Recap

With the start of school just around the corner, let's recap some of the recent achievements of PV students! It's clear that PVSchools students continue to achieve excellence in all areas, from academics to athletics. Celebrate with PVSchools as we highlight a few of our noteworthy accolades.

Here are just some of the achievements from Spring 2022.

PVSchools graduating class of 2022 was offered more than $59 million in academic and merit scholarships received from vocational schools, community colleges, in-state, out-of-state colleges and universities, and Ivy League institutions.

Eight juniors from Paradise Valley High School, Pinnacle High School, and Shadow Mountain High School earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT. 

Six seniors from Paradise Valley High School, Pinnacle High School, and Shadow Mountain High School were named 2022 National Merit Finalists.

Two North Canyon High School juniors were selected for the QuestBridge College Prep Scholars Program, which equips high-achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to apply to top colleges.

Showcasing their science and engineering knowledge, PVSchools students earned several awards from this year's Arizona Science and Engineering Fair. PVSchools had its most successful year ever, with teams winning at all three levels — Elementary 5th-6th grade, Junior 7th- 8th grade, and Senior 9th-12th grade.

Teams from Sonoran Sky Elementary School, Sunrise Middle School, and Paradise Valley High School placed at the top of this year's State, Regional, and National eCybermission competitions.

Three Sunrise Middle School students took first place after attending the rigorous Arizona National History Day competition and advanced to the National History Day competition.

Forty-eight seniors committed to pursuing a career in technical education during the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) and Career and Technical Education Signing Day event.

Pinnacle High School DECA Chapter had a very successful showing at the Arizona DECA Conference and brought back a treasure trove of awards. 

North Canyon High School won the AIA Division II State Championship and individual championships. Pinnacle High School and Shadow Mountain High School athletes won individual Division I and Division III AIA Track & Field Championships.

At the Winter Guard Arizona State Championships, Horizon High School’s Horizon Indoor Percussion Ensemble and Winter Guard teams performed exceptionally well to take home the prestigious state championship titles.

Congratulations to these students, and to all of our students throughout paradise who take steps each day to complete their journey of excellence.
